I encourage patients to start running at 3-4 weeks after surgery.

The muscle will be weak due to months and sometimes years of chronic pain and minimal use.

The first week is painful to walk, but you can walk.

Pain medications are taken the first few days as needed.

 

How big is the incision?

This is minimally invasive, so it is a small incision.

 

Where is the incision placed?

The incision is placed in the middle of the leg, around the calf muscle.
