Plantar Fasciitis Self Diagnostics

 

 

Do you have pain on the bottom of your heel or the center of the arch?

if Yes + 1 point

 

Do you have a history of recent trauma or fall?

if Yes, it is best to get an X-ray to rule out other injuries.   minus 5 points

 

Do you have increased pain standing or walking after periods of rest. Pain with first steps out of bed or after sitting in a car for a prolonged period of time?

if Yes + 1 point

 

Do you have pain in the very back of the heel, where the achilles comes down?

if Yes, you likely have Achilles Tendinitis. –   0 points

 

Does wearing supportive shoes or insoles help?

if Yes + 1 point

 

Does it feel worse the next day after increased standing or walking?

if Yes  + 1 point

 

Does stretching lessens your pain?

if Yes   + 1 point

 

If you have at least 4 points, there is a very high probability that you have Plantar Fasciitis.
